An attempt to assassinate Sorceress Edea during the capital's ceremonial parade has failed, ending in a direct battle between the sorceress and SeeD operatives.
A marksman fired on Edea as her parade vehicle reached the designated point in the city, but the shot was stopped by the sorceress's magic. Moments later, SeeD forces entered the confrontation directly.
Seifer Almasy fought at Edea's side before the sorceress herself engaged the attackers. The clash ended with Edea still standing and the SeeD operation defeated.
The incident came only hours after Edea killed President Deling and assumed control in the capital. It confirms that the confrontation between the sorceress and Garden has moved from political hostility to open conflict.
Galbadia now faces a rapidly escalating struggle in which the government, its military forces and the SeeD organization are no longer operating through intermediaries.
