The extraordinary temporal distortion that overtook the world has ended following the defeat of Ultimecia, the sorceress whose actions had driven the conflict from the future.
The crisis began when Ultimecia's plan to compress past, present and future into a single state was set in motion after the defeat of Adel. Normal distinctions between different periods of time began to collapse as SeeD forces pursued the sorceress beyond their own era.
Squall Leonhart and his companions reached Ultimecia in the future and defeated her before the compression of time could become permanent.
The restoration of the normal flow of time brought the group back toward their own era, ending a chain of events that had begun as a war involving Galbadia and the Gardens and ultimately expanded beyond nations, continents and even the present itself.
There are conflicts that redraw borders and wars that remove governments. This one came close to removing the boundaries between moments in time.
For now, the world is moving forward again.
